SCREENING CRITERIA

DFT has established a smooth and efficient screening process to select the right candidate since it was established. The planning process begins months in advance of the scholarship test, and our team is highly vigilant with the screening criteria process.

The screening criteria entails the following:
    • The application form is comprehensive and covers questions which verify the financial situation of the student.
    • DFT has set up around 26 test centres in all six provinces of the country for students' ease.
    • Each centre has a different test paper which is kept sealed under lock and key.
    • In this process, DFT sales team members are equally involved in supervising tests and ensuring transparency
    • Soon after the written test, interviews are conducted for passing candidates
    • List of passing candidates sent to DFT HO for double checking.

Selection Process

Dalda Foods' brands are marketed nationally and are available at every outlet starting from Karachi to Gilgit and from Turbot to Kashmir, therefore, the company try to cover the entire population in their plans and strategies and the same is the case for DFT. We select 450-500 students each year to award scholarships including 400 by DFT and the rest by outside donors. There are different options to award scholarships e.g. Quotas are according to the population ratio, however, that deprives many talented individuals of a chance for higher education and, in case of selection on merit, it ignores a portion of geographical spread.

 

Other selection choices include the education board examination or DFT's written test, therefore, the weighted average is considered. i.e. education board vs own written test and merit vs quota basis which changes every year depending upon various factors but in most cases, it is 60% and 40% in case of education board vs DFT marking and 50:50 in case of quota vs merit. Scholarship award for an outside donor is purely on merit. However, for renewal of scholarship, each student needs to achieve desired criteria in inter exam and should be upgraded to the next level in the case of professional education.
